GMBPF Advances “Multi-venue Events” Co-operation, Facilitating Over 270 Business Talks Yesterday; Free Admission for the Public from Today

The 2026 Guangdong & Macao Branded Products Fair, a comprehensive economic and trade event that integrates product exhibition and sales, industry matching, and business co-operation, will hold over 80 activities during its four-day run, with approximately 60% being professional trade activities. On the first day (6 August), the Trade Visitor Day attracted over 1,200 trade visitors and buyers, resulting in more than 270 business talks and the signing of 49 co-operation agreements. The results demonstrate the Fair’s effectiveness in promoting economic and trade co-operation between Guangdong and Macao and with markets at home and abroad, while strengthening connections across industry chains.

Themed business matching sessions help expand business opportunities

Closely aligned with the theme “New Opportunities in the Silver Economy, A New Chapter in Healthy Living”, the Fair held four themed business matching sessions yesterday: the Chinese Cuisine and “Belt and Road” Spices Business Matching Session, the “Belt and Road” Business Matching Session, the Silver Economy Business Matching Session, and the Gourmet Business Matching Session. Exhibitors and purchasing representatives from different regions actively took part in the discussions. A Pakistani food exhibitor noted that, as Macao continues to promote Muslim culture and develop related tourism facilities and services, local demand for distinctive products such as halal food has continued to grow. On the first day alone, several local clients expressed interest in co-operation, highlighting the Fair’s role in helping enterprises expand their market channels.

The Fair had a lively atmosphere. The organisers arranged around 20 buyer-guided tours to show industry associations and procurement representatives around the key booths. One buyer commented that the Fair showcased a diverse range of high-quality products from Southeast Asia and cities across Guangdong Province in one place. Initial contacts have already been established, with follow-up discussions under way on procurement details.

The Fair is open to the public free of charge from today (7 August). Visitors are welcome to shop from over 10,000 premium products from home and abroad, enjoy diverse interactive performances, and enter prize draws with prizes worth over MOP 1 million. Concurrent business matching sessions, forums, product launches, and multi-venue events will continue to run, providing an efficient and pragmatic platform for economic and trade co-operation for domestic and overseas businesses.

Furthermore, three additional themed business matching sessions took place today: the Halal Products Business Matching Session, which was organised to accommodate the increased number of halal exhibitors; the Healthy Living Zone Business Matching Session, which connected the supply and demand of wellness testing and care products; and the Multi-venue Events Matching and Exchange Session, which organised face-to-face negotiations between health and wellness parks in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin and Macao-based buyers to promote resource sharing between the two regions.

Forums and promotion sessions foster resource sharing in the Guangdong–Macao wellness and elderly care sector

A total of six industry forums will be held during the Fair, including the Macao Smart Home-Based and Elderly Care Development Forum, the Silver Finance Innovation and Development Forum, the Macao Silver Tourism Innovation Forum, and the New Ecosystem of Healthy Living Forum. Bringing together experts and industry representatives from different regions, the forums featured discussions on topics such as the integration of senior care services, business opportunities in the silver economy, and new health industry ecosystems, to encourage the continuous exchange of resources between Guangdong and Macao, as well as between Hengqin and Macao in the health and wellness sectors. Many enterprise representatives remarked that the forums brought together elements from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, making the forums a high-level industry event and providing inspiration and impetus for industry development and ecosystem enhancement.

Key promotion conferences were also held concurrently, focusing on the first-store economy, the big health industry, and corporate overseas expansion and other areas. During the fair, a briefing session on the “Scheme for Supporting the Development of Macao First-Store Economy” was organised to provide enterprises from outside Macao with a comprehensive introduction to the support policies for brands looking to establish a presence in Macao. An on-site consultation point was also set up to answer enquiries from interested brands, attracting numerous distinctive brands from different markets to enquire about entering the Macao market. The Promotion Conference on Enterprises Expanding into Portuguese-speaking Countries built on Macao’s platform role to analyse the market potential of Portuguese-speaking countries (PSCs) for Guangdong and Macao enterprises. The conference provided practical information on expanding overseas and helped enterprises leverage Macao to explore opportunities in Portuguese and Spanish-speaking markets.

The “multi-venue events” model: driving Hengqin–Macao senior care integration

The GMBPF continues to develop the “multi-venue events” cross-border collaboration model. Today, the Macao-Hengqin Forum on the Integration of Cross-boundary Elderly Care Services was held in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin. The forum featured in-depth discussions on topics such as unified standards for eldercare services in Hengqin and Macao, the two-way flow of medical and care resources, and the cross-border mobility of nursing professionals.

The 2026 GMBPF offers age-friendly, barrier-free services, including free shuttle buses operating between the Macao Peninsula and Taipa, and free parking at The Venetian Macao. The venue offers dedicated priority access lanes for the elderly and rest areas for visitors with special needs. Wheelchairs, walking aids, and magnifying glasses can be borrowed free of charge. It also provides mobile phone charging stations, trolleys, and discounts on local courier services.
